Breaking News: Major Flooding in Nashville

Floodwaters reached historic levels as Nashville and surrounding counties experienced devastating flooding beginning over the weekend.

For those needing assistance, the Nashville Red Cross is sheltering 1,000 residents in the Metro area and will open new shelters as needed.

Below is a list of just some of the shelters available in the Mid-State:

• Fairview Recreation Center – Fairview, TN
• Hazelwood Elementary School – Clarksville, TN
• Al Menah Shrine Center – Nashville, TN
• First Assembly of God – Erin, TN
• First Baptist Church – Dover, TN
• Grace United Methodist Church – Mount Juliet, TN
• Smyrna Town Center – Smyrna, TN
• Centerville Church of Christ – Centerville, TN
• College Hills Church of Christ – Lebanon, TN
• Waverly Church of Christ – Waverly, TN
• People’s Church – Franklin, TN
• Waverly Church of Christ – Waverly, TN
• Hendersonville First Baptist Church – Hendersonville, TN
• Sycamore High School – Pleasant View, TN
Emergency shelters have also opened at Shrine Temple on Brick Church Pike and Bellevue Middle School on Colice-Jeanne Road in Bellevue.

Nashville’s Office of Emergency Management encourages residents to call 615-862-8574 for help or questions related to the flooding.

In addition, individuals who wish to volunteer are asked to contact Hands on Nashville at HON.org.
